In late 2005 the truck manufacturer A. Flensborg and the Fuel Cell Power Unit manufacturer H2 Logic launched the H2 Truck. Since then the vehicle has been further adjusted and serial production has started.
The first six H2 Truck's are now in operation at hospitals and other locations in the cities of Herning, Holstebro and Aarhus.
The H2 Truck is intended for internal transportation in industries, warehouses, hospitals, airports and other applications with a need for non-polluting energy.
The H2 Truck is different from battery trucks in the way that the batteries have been replaced with a Fuel Cell Power Unit, developed by H2 Logic.
Compared to batteries the Fuel Cell Power Unit doubles the operation range of the H2 Truck and the refilling time of hydrogen is only to 2-3 minutes compared to the 10-12 hours recharge time of batteries. The only emission from the fuel cell system is pure water enabling a non-polluting internal transportation system. The Fuel Cell Power Unit also features a 1000W 230V AC power output making the H2 Truck a mobile power source.
To avoid that the customers have to handle a complex hydrogen refilling process, H2 Logic has also developed a compact H2Fillingstation to refill the H2 Truck vehicles.
The H2 Truck will be exhibited at the Hannover Fair in april 2006.
