H2 Logic fuel cell technology wins Shell Eco-marathon with 1.246 km on one litre gasoline

Norwegian NTNU students won this year Shell Eco-marathon with H2 Logic fuel cell technology, by setting a new world record on 1.246 km on a hydrogen energy amount corresponding to one litre of gasoline. H2 Logic sponsored the project and the students with the company’s fuel cell technology and knowledge.

Each year the oil company Shell holds a race for prototype vehicles running on alternative fuels, where the aim is to drive the longest distance on a hydrogen energy amount corresponding to one litre of gasoline. All vehicles in the race are developed by students from European universities.

In this year race, H2 Logic chose to sponsor a team of Norwegian students from NTNU, by contributing with the company’s fuel cell technology and knowledge for the development of the vehicle. The aim was to reach 1.000 km which would be enough to break the previous world record on 848 km. This was more than reached as the vehicle drove 1.246 km which was enough to secure a 1st place in the race, in the vehicle class for Urban Concepts.
